Your spot on with the grading there Gearoid. Senior team play in division 1, intermediate in division 4 and juniors in division 7.there are 12 or 13 divisions altogether. There are about 5 or 6 players on the junior team in their late 30's/early 40's, the rest are spread across 17-35 age group.
Fortunately (or probably unfortunately for you), both the intermediate and junior teams are mid-table with no chance of being involved in promotional/relegation play-offs and as a result training has been wound up early this year. The next training for intermediates & juniors(both teams trained together for most of this season) will more than likely be in the 2nd week of January when we return for pre-season training. Games start mid/late February and the season runs right through the summer finishing in October/November usually.
New players are always welcome. The best thing to do would be to come up in January and see how you fair out. drop a message on this board again in the 1st week of January and someone will let you know the start date for training.
Hi David, thanks for that info. I will wait in the long grass til January and look forward to training with the juniors then! Gearoid.

There a 3 mens Adult teams: Senior , Intermediate , and Junior. To be honost , a certain level of experiance and fitness is required for all three. I belive some clubs have an “over 40's” team who i belive play a round robin in the summer. Season has finished for the juniors , but you'd be welcome to come up training when it starts again to check the standard for yourself.
Hi Robbie, Thanks for that. Pardon my complete ignorance but would I be right in saying that the Senior team is the “A” team, the Intermediate is the “B” team and the Juniors is the “C” team – and the word junior as nothing to do with younger (that's the minors, right?). So that a guy like myself – staring 40 in the face – would be hoping to train / play with the “Junior” team. By the way do you have any guys in the 35+ age group in the junior team? When will the junior team start training / playing games again?
Gearoid.

Hi, I'm almost 40 and would love to play gaelic football. However looking at your senior team they all look pretty fit and competitive. Do you have any games for guys like myself who love the game but are not really into intense competition?
Gearoid.
