Ballymun Kickhams

Ladies GAA Team

Ladies Team Update June 2009

Following the mass retirement of a number of ladies in 2007 and a lack of interest from anyone within the club to manage the ladies team; it was decided to amalgamate Ballymun Kickhams with Finglas Gaels in the Summer of 2008 who were having similar problems with numbers. Much of last year was spent just getting to know each other and this year we started off with a bang. There are currently 10 Kickhams girls and 11 Finglas Gaels so the numbers are pretty even.

The management team is made up of Peter Reaney, Kevin Barry and Gus Rock. We also have a fitness coach Graham Ryan who specialises in Plyometrics and core strengthening.

We are currently playing in Division 3 but sadly we were knocked out of the Championship this year. On a more positive note we are currently in the top 2 teams in both the League and the Cup and are hoping to get promoted to Division 2 this year. There are currently 8 Divisions in Dublin Ladies Football so getting into Division 2 would be a great achievement.

We really appreciate the managers sticking with us and putting in all the hard work and effort. The team has made a massive improvement over the last 6 months.

The team is made up of the following players:

1. Heather Sheehan

2. Karen Hargan

3. Jenny Brogan

4. Gillian Murray

5. Nicole Rock

6. Annemarie McCluskey

7. Grainne Martin
